From Stressful to
Joyful Walks
Meet Bailey
A 4 year old Border Collie
Bailey came to his family at 11 months old as an emergency foster. Shortly after, he started to show reactivity toward dogs and anything with wheels. That included cars, trucks, golf carts, and bikes.
His reactions were explosive barking and lunging. In situations of extreme overload, Bailey would grab and nip at his handler's legs as a displacement behavior. He was really struggling.
His family worked with him for 3 years and even sent him to a board and train. He was still struggling. His reactivity was getting worse. His reactions to things with wheels expanded to grocery carts. He was extremely anxious and always scanning on walks. Walks with him were very stressful.
In Reactivity Rehab, Savannah created a plan to build Bailey's confidence and meet his high energy needs. Bailey had a hard time focusing. She worked with his dog dad, Kevin, to build Bailey's engagement on leash. She also gave Kevin the skills to keep Bailey under threshold.
After 6 weeks of training, Bailey had more coping skills for his triggers, and Kevin felt more confident.
And for the 1st time, he was able to go on a long walk in public, passing triggers. He only had two mild reactions. Instead of his reactions ruining the whole walk, Bailey quickly recovered and kept on enjoying his stroll.
"We walked almost a mile, which is the farthest I've ever walked with him. I was dreading it at first and loving it at the end."

Watch as Savannah describes how Bailey changed over 6 weeks.
High energy, anxious, and with multiple triggers felt like an impossible situation with Bailey.
Kevin went from bracing for the next reaction to actually enjoying walks.
We'd love to help your dog feel safe and able to take on the world too.
