From Frustrated
to Confident

Meet Hobie

An 11-month old goldendoodle

Hobie's owners noticed he barked and lunged at dogs. But it was inconsistent.

He loved off-leash play and did well in group training on leash. But there were times when Hobie would drop or become dead weight, then explode when a dog passed.

His owners, Stephanie and Lee, tried other trainers and courses, but couldn't get a handle on his reactivity. They came to Reactivity Rehab very frustrated.

Jocelyn worked with them to identify Hobie's unique triggers. Dogs approaching Hobie head-on, leaning into him, or staring set him off. Then she developed a plan to change his reactions into new, calmer behaviors.

Hobie's reactions were fast. In 6 weeks of Reactivity Rehab, his owners learned how to intervene before Hobie reacted. And how to turn his barking and lunging at dogs into giving his owners attention and focus instead.

They have a very active lifestyle and wanted Hobie to go places with them without worrying he'd react. They went from stressful outings bracing for his next reaction to feeling confident on walks.

As you can see in the video below, the busy trails and paths they couldn't take Hobie on without him reacting became more enjoyable.

You can see Hobie's transformation. And how much more confident his dog mom, Stephanie, became. She's a star handler!

Reactivity doesn't just impact your dog. It can limit where you're able to go and how you live together.

If your dog's reactivity is making your walks and outings difficult, we can create a new walking reality for you too.
